Women-Only: Introduction to Firearms

(Satisfies Maryland’s Handgun Qualification License–HQL–requirements. The HQL is required to purchase a handgun in Maryland).

This course is designed for women to familiarize themselves with common firearms used for home defense. Topics include Maryland and Federal firearms laws, home safety, firearms operation, ammunition selection, fundamentals of shooting and firearms maintenance.

April 29, 2018. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Four hours of classroom instruction followed by two hours of live-fire on a range.

Course tuition:  $150

$50 deposit when registering 

(Course tuition includes 100 rounds of 9 mm ammunition). 

Participants must bring the following:

1. Eye and ear protection. You must have these to shoot on the live-fire range.
2. A ball cap, sturdy leather belt to hold a holster, and sunglasses. Sunscreen is highly recommended.
3. You may bring your own handgun with prior instructor approval.
4. We strongly suggest that you bring a bag lunch, snacks, and water.
